Learn from best practices

Our consulting services take the best practices from the energy sector and adopt them to other sectors and decision settings. The way we work is informal and we like to open up for discussions around how a structured framework for strategic decision-making can provide valuable benefits in many different settings. Hopefully we can inspire participants to look more deeply into the field of decision analysis in general and how it can be applied in their decision settings in particular.

Systematic approach

High quality decision-making in a complex and uncertain world requires both competent decision-makers and qualified staff of professionals to prepare the decision proposals. The decision analysis concepts and techniques developed and applied in the energy sector to address such challenges, are also highly relevant for other business sectors, in particular those that undertake capital investments that are significant to the business, or those that struggle with other decision problems that may have an impact. Organisations involved in new products or technologies, as well as public administrations that have a particular focus on maximising benefits within tight budgets, will also benefit from a systematic approach to perform project evaluations, optimisations and prioritisations.

Consulting

Through our teaching and consulting practice, we are available to assist our clients in designing and implementing effective decision processes and establishing guidelines for consistent utilisation of decision analysis methodology across the organisation. Adopting a decision analysis approach to problem solving often requires advice and facilitation in an early phase. We are also available to support projects directly in their work.

Inspiration sessions

The inspiration sessions provide a brief introduction to decision analysis to illustrate how it can be used to facilitate strategic decision-making. In these sessions we take the principles and methodology used to analyse different decision problems in the oil and gas sector and apply them to our clients' settings. Tailored cases studies are used to exemplify the practical application of the concepts and methods.
