Ada Christiane Rieker
Ada has a BBA from University of Washington and an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University with focus on finance and economics. She has also completed a course in Board Management at BI Norwegian Business School.
Ada has 25 years of professional and leadership experience from Hydro and Statoil, mainly working within the field of investment analysis, portfolio management, strategy and business development, but she also has experience from internal audit, IS management and investor relations. She has extensive experience from senior level management positions with leadership of multidiscipline teams across geographic regions.
Ada has for years been particularly dedicated to improve value creation through good decision processes, focusing on providing high quality decision support by improving analysis methodology, tools and work processes, training professional staff and enhancing cross discipline collaboration.
Ada spends most of her time as an advisor to small and medium sized companies within the field of decision analysis and general management support.
Erlend A. J. Glømmen
Erlend has an MSc in Reservoir engineering from NTNU in Norway, an MBA from Edinburgh Business School (EBS), Heriot-Watt University in Scotland and a Professional certificate in Strategic decision and Risk management from Stanford University. He started his career in Saga Petroleum ASA in 1997 and has since then worked in oil and gas companies, service and software companies and as an independent consultant.
Erlend’s experience is gained through a variety of roles in different parts of the industry: He has extensive training and consultancy experience in decision analysis for national and international clients. He has been responsible for developing guidelines and requirements in decision analysis for oil and gas companies, has been a speaker at international conferences and SPE forums, and served as a guest lecturer at NTNU. Erlend also has experience as product manager, creative lead, technical representative and board member.
Erlend spends the majority of his time providing courses in decision analysis and supporting teams and companies in improving their decision-making processes.
Ronald D. Allred
Ron is working as a Principal Advisor in DecisionNodes - his wide-ranging experience in the oil and gas industry as well as his expertise in decision analysis complements the skills already in place within the company. His areas of expertise are in decision and risk facilitation, decision analysis and modeling, implementation planning and conducting decision analysis, modeling, and value-of-information courses.
Ron has a BSc in Geology from Oklahoma State University and an MSc in Geophysics from Wright State University. He started his career in the oil and gas industry with Arco in 1980 and for the past 34 years has worked for ConocoPhillips. His last appointment held was Europe Capital Projects Portfolio Manager, a position that required structured problem-solving skills, alignment and close cooperation between the projects group, internal departments and key stakeholders to execute the portfolio of projects in Europe.
A significant percentage of Ron's working life has been associated with decision analysis - from a wide-eyed neophyte being mentored in the discipline, to being European Director for Decision and Risk Analysis (managing both local and regional groups), to a recognized global resource responsible for developing and enacting decision analysis policy on a company wide basis for ConocoPhillips.
Ron's experience allows him to provide a high level of support to company decision-makers and to teams working on decision problems both within and outside of the oil and gas industry.
Senior solutions architect
Marius has an BSc with Honors in Computer Science from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, with focus on human-computer interaction and UX.
He started his career in 2005 as a co-owner of a software company working with Marketing Campaign products. His main task as a project manager and software developer was to help customers plan and execute their marketing strategies using online tools. He has since then worked in software development companies in the oil and gas industry and as an independent consultant.
Marius’ experience is gained through roles as an Architect, project lead and software developer for numerous projects within the field of Decision Analysis, Reserves Management and Business intelligence. He has special expertise using “low-code” frameworks for quick turn-around and customizations. This has been successfully applied to projects with larger organisations and governmental bodies such as EBN in the Netherlands.
Marius has also worked with major national and international oil and gas companies in Europe, within Reserves Management, Field development planning and Asset valuations. He has extensive experience working closely with Product Owners and Project Management, with focus on Architecture, feature specification and Application LifeCycle, using CVS, SVN, TeamCity and TFS/Azure.
Associated senior advisor
Ragnar has a cand real in geology from University of Oslo and subsequently a 4 year period as a researcher in sedimentology and diagenesis at UiO and at the Continental Shelf Institute (IKU).
From 1984 until February 2016 he has been employed in Saga Petroleum, Hydro and Statoil, the last 20 years as chief geologist and senior advisor in geology. Ragnar has a broad experience in all the sub-surface activities linked to exploration, field development and fields in production.
His main focus has been to try to integrate and merge all the petroleum technology disciplines, in order to get a more holistic view of the sub-surface challenges. Ragnar has also been an important contributor to the development of modern geo-modeling technology. In addition he has run numerous classroom and field courses in Svalbard, Yorkshire, USA, Greenland, Denmark, Argentina, France, and not the least, in the Spanish Pyrenees. Ragnar has also throughout his professional career had a close collaboration with the Norwegian academia in geology.
Ragnar is working as an independent consultant and an associated senior advisor to DecisionNodes. His main focus is on our multi-discipinary field trips to Ainsa, but he is also available to share his expertise in other courses and projects.

Yngve has 6 years higher education from Møre & Romsdal Distriktshøgskole and University of Bergen. Focus has been on economics and information science.
Yngve has more than 25 years of experience from Hydro and Statoil and 4 years at Det norske Veritas. He has worked with a broad range of business challenges from reengineering of business processes, system development to business planning, decision analysis, international business development and regional portfolio strategy.
Within the oil&gas industry he has worked with the whole value chain from exploration to abandonment. Yngve has held several senior level management positions and has been actively engaged in strategy and business development processes both in Norway and internationally.
Yngve has a creative mind and special strengths related to strategic thinking and challenging conventional opinions. He has a particular interest for changing complex issues into simple and understandable contexts.
Yngve is engaged in various projects ranging from urban development to advisory services. As an associated senior advisor to DecisionNodes his main focus is on our facilitation services, but he is also available to share his expertise in other settings.
Reidar B. Bratvold
Associated senior advisor
Reidar B. Bratvold is a Professor of Petroleum Investment and Decision Analysis at the University of Stavanger, Norway where he is teaching and supervising graduate students doing research in uncertainty assessment, risk management, investment analysis, decision sciences, and market based valuation.
He is also a professor II at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim where his main focus is on the application of decision analysis to support Integrated Operations. Before joining the University of Stavanger, Reidar was professor and discipline head of petroleum engineering & management at the University of Adelaide, Australia, where he still retains a position as adjunct professor.
Reidar holds a PhD degree in petroleum engineering and an MSc degree in mathematics both from Stanford University, an MSc degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa, a BSc degree from University of Stavanger, Norway. He also has extensive executive education from INSEAD (International Executive Program), Stanford Graduate School of Business and Stanford’s Department of Management Sciences and Engineering, and the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is a Fellow and board member of the Society of Decision Professionals.
Reidar is a co-author of the book, Making Good Decisions. The book is based on commonly accepted best practices and underpinned by sound theory, stemming from the author's mix of industry and academic experience. It will help the reader to think clearly about complex and uncertain decision situations and explain such topics as decision-tree analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, value of information, and value of flexibility. This book is essential reading for technical professionals and managers alike.
