Ada Christiane Rieker
Associated senior advisor

Ada is a Director and Management consultant at Metier. She has a BBA from University of Washington and an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University with focus on finance and economics. She has also completed a course in Board Management at BI Norwegian Business School.

Ada has 25 years of professional and leadership experience from Hydro and Statoil, mainly working within the field of investment analysis, portfolio management, strategy and business development, but she also has experience from internal audit, IS management and investor relations. She has extensive experience from senior level management positions with leadership of multidiscipline teams across geographic regions.

Ada has for years been particularly dedicated to improve value creation through good decision processes, focusing on providing high quality decision support by improving analysis methodology, tools and work processes, training professional staff and enhancing cross discipline collaboration.

Sverre Holte
Principal advisor

Sverre holds an MSc in fluid mechanics and a PhD in geophysical fluid mechanics from University of Oslo, and has more than 20 years of hands-on experience within complex decision making.Sverre started his career in the oil and gas industry in research and development projects in Det norske Veritas and Kværner (now Aker Solutions). He later joined Hydro and Statoil (now Equinor) and worked within field development, international business development and exploration.

Sverre held senior advisory and management positions in exploration and portfolio management. He was responsible for developing exploration guidelines in Equinor, coordinating economists, engineers and geologists/geophysicists in multi-disciplinary work and complex decision processes in general.

Ronald D. Allred
Principal advisor

Ron is working as a Principal Advisor in DecisionNodes - his wide-ranging experience in the oil and gas industry as well as his expertise in decision analysis complements the skills already in place within the company. His areas of expertise are in decision and risk facilitation, decision analysis and modeling, implementation planning and conducting decision analysis, modeling, and value-of-information courses.

Ron has a BSc in Geology from Oklahoma State University and an MSc in Geophysics from Wright State University. He started his career in the oil and gas industry with Arco in 1980 and for the past 34 years has worked for ConocoPhillips. His last appointment held was Europe Capital Projects Portfolio Manager, a position that required structured problem-solving skills, alignment and close cooperation between the projects group, internal departments and key stakeholders to execute the portfolio of projects in Europe.

A significant percentage of Ron's working life has been associated with decision analysis - from a wide-eyed neophyte being mentored in the discipline, to being European Director for Decision and Risk Analysis (managing both local and regional groups), to a recognized global resource responsible for developing and enacting decision analysis policy on a company wide basis for ConocoPhillips.

Ron's experience allows him to provide a high level of support to company decision-makers and to teams working on decision problems both within and outside of the oil and gas industry.

Reidar B. Bratvold
Associated senior advisor

Reidar B. Bratvold is a Professor of Petroleum Investment and Decision Analysis at the University of Stavanger, Norway where he is teaching and supervising graduate students doing research in uncertainty assessment, risk management, investment analysis, decision sciences, and market based valuation.

He is also a professor II at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim where his main focus is on the application of decision analysis to support Integrated Operations. Before joining the University of Stavanger, Reidar was professor and discipline head of petroleum engineering & management at the University of Adelaide, Australia, where he still retains a position as adjunct professor.

Reidar holds a PhD degree in petroleum engineering and an MSc degree in mathematics both from Stanford University, an MSc degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa, a BSc degree from University of Stavanger, Norway. He also has extensive executive education from INSEAD (International Executive Program), Stanford Graduate School of Business and Stanford’s Department of Management Sciences and Engineering, and the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is a Fellow and board member of the Society of Decision Professionals.

Reidar is a co-author of the book, Making Good Decisions. The book is based on commonly accepted best practices and underpinned by sound theory, stemming from the author's mix of industry and academic experience. It will help the reader to think clearly about complex and uncertain decision situations and explain such topics as decision-tree analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, value of information, and value of flexibility. This book is essential reading for technical professionals and managers alike.
